I can see it now.. Thousands of confused Alzheimer’s patients roaming the isles of walmart with the little bluetooth’s in their ears constantly reminding them what,why,who, and when everything around them is. “What’s this little thing in my ear for?” “who am I, what is an ear?”. Then they get to the checkout and scan their faces across the bar code reader and a voice comes over the PA “I’m George Bush and I approve this purchase”. Sounds like…utopia!

And the award for biggest tool goes to Kanye West! Good job Kanye, you’ve effectively made a complete horses ass of yourself once again whilst simultaneously making people adore the person you were attempting to defame even more than they already did in the first place. Now the medias’ little darling (Swift) can be even more coddled and raised higher onto her already absurdly towering pedestal because people feel sorry for her. I say that it’s likely to do her good in the long run to suffer a little humility. Perhaps she will develop a stronger character because of this experience. Kanye is the one I pity most of all, I wouldn’t want to be him right now! It just goes to show that not even all the fame, possessions, money, talent..der..uh.. or lack thereof can cure the disease known as ignorance which so pervasively plagues our society today. I guess that’s just the price to be paid when a culture becomes so dumbed-down with consumerism that a select group of talentless hacks are revered as untouchable demigods and treated like royal super power wielding mythical heroes. The entire production, with the exception of the performance by rock geniuses “Muse”, bore the hallmarks of an entertainment industry plummeting paradoxically into the height of absurdity. Ultimately Mr. West seemed to have cried wolf when, in a twist of irony, the only real winner in the entire situation seemed to me to be Beyonce Knowles who garnered her own award for video of the year (the most distinguished category of them all). After accepting her award Mrs. Knowles graciously gave Ms. Swift her due moment in the spotlight. Of all the people Taylor Swift thanked in her speech she failed to mention Beyonce! Bravo to Mrs. Knowles for being such a class act and possessing the type of virtuosity that is sadly in decline. For most pretentious speech of the decade i nominate Madonna, for moot point of the century the nominee is… Kanye West, the ungracious, tacky little snob award goes to none other than Taylor Swift and last but certainly not least the award for the highlight of the night and the only thing worth viewing out of the entire fiasco goes to the band Muse. Now go do something productive instead of wasting your time giving thought to such useless exercises in futility like i just did by typing all this.
